Shell ginger is a Taiwanese native perennial evergreen shrub in the ginger family. It has long been used in this region as a food additive. The rhizome has a very woody and medicinal feel with hints of mint and cardamon. Ideal for recipes that need that strong earthy punch with the subtleties of of the cooling fragrances it holds deep.

Formosa North offers Shell Ginger Rhizome Powder grown on our farms in SE Taiwan. The rhizomes are dug by hand, trimmed, washed, sliced, dried and powdered.
